The robbery took place in Springfield around 9:15 a.m., Saturday, April 9 at the bank located on the 500 block of Sumner Avenue.
A teller told officers one of the suspects handed over a note demanding money and implying that he had a gun, said Ryan Walsh, spokesman for the Springfield Police.
The suspect, later identified as Edward Rosso, age 22, of Springfield, got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, Walsh said.
Crime Analysts in the Springfield Police Department’s Real-Time Analysis Center reviewed surveillance video and relayed information to officers that a second suspect, later identified as Aaron Hadley, age 50, of Springfield was acting as a lookout, Walsh said.
Detectives and officers canvassed the area and were able to locate Rosso on the 400 block of Sumner Avenue. Rosso was detained and evidence was located in his pocket, he added.
Detectives and officers then located Hadley in the same area, police said.
Both were arrested and charged with armed robbery while masked, Walsh said.
